Modes

Three supporting modes sit alongside your reminders. Each is designed to stay in its lane: hydration nudges during the hours you choose, a timer you set with your thumb, and a switch that quiets everything while you’re away.

Hydration

Periodic drink-water nudges, off by default. You choose the days (every day, or weekdays only), a time window, and a rhythm of every one, two, or three hours. Within the window, Luma fires on the hour — a window of 9 to 17 every 2 hours nudges at 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00. Windows that wrap past midnight work too.

Hydration has its own look so you never mistake it for a reminder: a soft breathing white base with two comets — one blue, one cyan — orbiting in opposite directions. One tap clears every pending hydration nudge at once, and a test button in the settings shows the animation on demand.

Pomodoro

A focus timer you operate entirely by touch, no phone involved:

Press and hold an idle Luma for a second — the ring starts filling with white light over four seconds.
Release at the amount you want. A full ring is your configured maximum — 20, 40, or 60 minutes — and each LED is an equal slice of it. Even a single LED starts a timer.
When time is up, Luma glows white like a reminder. Tap to dismiss.

Two styles of counting down:

Silent (default) — the ring fades out and the timer runs invisibly until it completes.
Sandclock— the ring stays lit and drains one LED at a time, so a glance shows what’s left. Its brightness is separately adjustable.

To cancel a running timer, press and hold again — Sandclock fades out; Silent gives a short white flash so you know it registered.

Vacation

One switch that pauses all scheduled reminders and hydration nudges. From the device’s web page pick 1, 3, 7, or 14 days — or until I return; the app offers any length from 1 to 30 days. When the time is up, Luma resumes by itself; you can also just turn it off early.

Turning vacation on or off on the Main quiets every device in the system together.
The button still works while you’re away — Pomodoro and the ambient lamp tap are unaffected. Vacation silences schedules, not the device.
